After visiting with my daughter's family for awhile, I go to check on Dakota and don't see her. She doesn't come to the sliding door when I try to open it (usually the noise attracts her and she comes running). I get a little worried and go to the front. Opening the door, I am greeted with a beautiful site -- ...

05 December 2010 -

Andes takes a 2nd place female in her age class in her 1st show, then 1st place in her age and Reserve Female in her 2nd show. She looked so natural. Memories of the expression on her face -- curious, alert, calm, obedient, will last a life time.

18 July 2010 -

Here are the results of the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test (PAT) given today when the pups visit...

2010 Dakota x Rooster - from fragile newborn to toddler

events are sequenced so that most recent is listed first

07 September: Andes has now figured out how to climb through the openings or over the chairs I use to block the kitchen from the carpeted living room. She's off exploring the house and coming back with slippers and sacks of candy. She also knows how to ask to come inside, by looking cute and pawing at the sliding door.

Should I post...

Note -- entries are sequenced with the newest is at the top

04 August - I find it a pleasant surprise that just opening the door to the kennel inside the garage where the pack stays for the night (minus any who are in a crate as they prepare to be away from the pack and in their new homes), many just walk right in, find a pillow to lay on or rest their head, ...

2 June 2010 - Note to self:

Several of the pups slipped their collars when 4-5 days old. I used their 2-day old pictures to determine the color ribbon to tie, and marked their toenails as a pre-caution.

reddish finger nail polish on right rear toenails = dark blue male pup (Logan)

reddish finger nail polish on left rear toenails = light blue male pup (Everest)

reddish finger nail polish on both rear toenails = black male pu...

Dakota x Atlas 2009 - note to owners-in-wait on birth of 4 x 3 di-da's

Posted by Susan Powers on August 10, 2009 at 12:05 AM Comments comments (0)

Written Friday 5 June 2009 and sent to owners-in-wait:

The 1st girl was born last night around 22:20. By sunrise we had 4 girls and 3 boys. All appear very healthy and wiggly, with good coloring and healthy sounding squeaks.
