I have some very difficult words to write here, as Katy was taken from this life on the 2nd of April, 2017. In the mean time, let me share our thoughts as we anticipated and celebrated the birth of Katy's first litter.
Katy is the 3-year old daughter of Dakota (Eclipse Diamond 'n Dakota, GBF) and Kaleb (Worrywort Raphael Kaleb. She has a wonderful, loving, playful temperament, top health clearances. See http://www.didaKaleb.webs.com) .
With Katy's health tests in place (OFA-certified good hips and normal elbows, MDR normal / normal, clear DM (by parentage), clear results for the top five GSD health hindrances), three championships to her name, a floating stride and a solid, gentle temperament, we are proud to pass on her lineage. She was mated with Juel's Return to Sanity (Titan a.k.a. Buddy).
Then with the kind of whelping all breeders hope for, seven healthy pups were born Sunday the 12th of February 2017, four boys and three girls.
The first girl arrived at 5:15 Sunday night, the 7th pup at 1:15 Monday morning. Two of the boys are black/tan, two are white. All three girls are white. All pups weighed in at birth around 1 pound. 3 pups are long coat, 2 plush coat, and 2 short coat. All are MDR normal/normal and DM clear/ear by parentage !
UPDATE (per 25 April 2017) -- Six puppies have been placed. One white female is available for adoption.

Thank you for visiting di-da GSD Companion's website. We are located in Rochester, MN, home of the Mayo Clinic and about 75 miles south of the Twin Cities. Di-Da is named for our first two white female German Shepherds, Diamond and Dakota.
Health is very important to our dogs and those we breed to in order to optimize the opportunity for strong health in Di-Da's prodigee. Both of Di-Da's females have passed all of the recommended health tests for German Shepherds, as cited by the Canine Health Information Center: http://www.caninehealthinfo.org/brdreqs.html?breed=GS
We specialize in socialization and believe it is key to the development of your pet. Any event that comes our way is an opportunity to introduce our puppies to. Each puppy is introduced to typical and not-so-typical events in their short time at di-da GSD Companions. They experience life around the yard, prairie, home, parks, traveling in cars, are exposed to loud noises by riding on my lap when mowing the grass, being nearby when starting the snow blower, and when the Wednesday weather siren screams less than 1/2 block away. We expose them to life amidst commotion including being around kids and their activities and other animals. They are introduced to older adults, periodically stay in a kennel run, and spend their last few nights at di-da in a crate. They are primed with curiosity and eagerness to please and ready to bond with you and your family as they leave di-da GSD Companions to become your "BFF" (best friend forever).
* Di-Da transitioned away from our original tag of Di-Da Kennels to Di-Da GSD Companions, as we are a family who loves GSDs 'first' and are a 'kennel' next.
